Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Experience This game throws out past tropes such as repeated game play and the waifu factor. And honestly it is a far better game then Fates Character wise and Story wise. I have enjoyed the Dungeons and playing as both Celica and Alms Armys the art style is wonderful feeling rustic and new. If you love Fire Emblem for more then just the Waifu factor like me then you will love this Remake. If you only wanna play Fire Emblem for dating people thennnn no not for you.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from s'okay? not the greatest. you don't have a lot of freedom of choice in this one. controls are a bit weird. characters aren't all that interesting... but it's really pretty? so that's cool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Best FE game to date, way better than the other 3DS titles story wise.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A visual novel with a turn-base strategy minigame The art, music, animation and actual gameplay are great, but good lord is this bogged down by the writing. As soon as I saw the anime opening sequence, my eyes staryed rolling. At least Awakening and Fates made use of the 3ds's 3D. And given the great voice acting and 8-4's purple prose localizing, I thought the full voice acting would be good. It's not- less is mire when it comes to vocals in Fire Emblem. I should be grateful they brought back supports, but honestly, aside from Leon, Kamui and Valbar's, they were so boring I started rapid clicking my way through them. And all the canon relationships... aren't helping. I know japanese RPGs are notorious for linear stories and trying to pass off interactive movies as games but come on, IntSys- I could choose Eliwood's main squeeze but not Gray's? Seriously, it feels less like I'm playing a game and more like I'm reading a book. Which would be great, but I don't want to pay $40 for a book. TL;DR- play the game, skip the story. I'd gotten my hopes up for a localized remake of New Mystery of the Emblem, but if this is how they treat remakes now, please don't desecrate my memories...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Fire Emblem game of 2017!!!!!!! I just bought this game and I'm already in love!!!!!! The story is amazing so far!!! I'm so gonna play all night!!! When this was announced I was a bit skeptical about if I was gonna like it or not. Or even buy it! But my little Fire Emblem fan side of me got to me and I knew I had to get it! Plus a lot of people were posting it on Instagram and one of my friends posted it on Snapchat XD XD XD! But in all honestly, yes this game was worth $40. I wish I got the Amiibo however. They look amazing!!! Also ignore all the haters that didn't like the game. They aren't real fans of the series.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from EXTREMELY HORRIBLE Being a HUGE Fire Emblem fan I had highly anticipated this game only to be disappointed. The game mechanics are awful, the battle info, etc. This game really upset me as it is nothing (for example) like Awakening and Fates. If you were a huge fan of both of those games then I strongly suggest you forget about getting Shadows of Valentia. It's seriously not worth any price and is just a pure disappoint of a Fire Emblem game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from FE Veterans rejoice! As someone who has played every game in the franchise its safe to say that this could turn FE away from Awakening and Fates' pandering and back into the golden age of difficulty and storytelling
