Following in the footsteps of Persona 3 Portable, the second highest rated PSP game of all time, and based on Persona 4, one of the most beloved ATLUS titles ever, P4G delivers an enhanced and expanded portable roleplaying experience. Visuals have been beautifully remastered to take advantage of the vibrant 5" OLED display. The game's aural presentation is better than ever, with 1.5 times the voiced dialogue of the original release. A new online dungeon rescue feature allows users to call on other players for assistance when they are about to die in the TV world. P4G is also overflowing with new content: new Personas to collect; new story events along with an allnew character; stunning new anime cutscenes, which include a new opening animation with a new song from master composer Shoji Meguro; a host of fan suggested tweaks and changes, and much, much more! Persona 4 Golden is far more than just a handheld version of an alltime classic: it's the best way to experience it yet!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This game is amazing overall I'm going to start off by saying I've never even owned persona 4 on ps2 this was not the first persona game I've played though I wish it was. This game deserves more than to be on a dead handheld is an amazing game its the same as the original game but adds 2 new Social links with one being a new character being Marie a girl with no memories of who she is or where she came from and the other being a detective known as Adachi who is partners with your uncle who is a police office. Once you complete the Marie social link you will unlock a post-game epilog with a new dungeon which adds an extra 2 months to the in-game calendar and once completed unlock a new set of credits. Some other new features are new dialogue choices, new animated cutscenes, the ability to fast forward through text, a gardening and bug catching hobby, more quests, new story events, and added difficulty levels. Overall I found the game just so engrossing I couldn't stop playing at times. The game's atmosphere gave me such a nostalgic feeling and the social interactions were genuinely immersive. I got so entangled with some characters I actually grew angry or upset when events happened. People are giving this game low scores over the graphics but I had no issue with them whatsoever and I played it blown up on a flat screen with a PSTV and it looked just fine. If you're a newcomer to the series I couldn't recommend this game enough it's just that good, It's easy to grasp the gameplay is really fun the interaction with the characters makes you feel like they are real and overall a great way to spend some free time. If you don't have the money for a vita just spend 30 bucks on a PSTV and play this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long, Hard, and Amazing Plot worth your time This game is absolutely worth every penny you put in it. Games like Persona 4 Golden will take hours upon hours to complete. It also is slightly more difficult than most games, but that didn't stop a casual like me from playing it. The story is incredible and the characters are relatable even though they are in Japan. This is a game worth investing time and effort into, and you are rewarded with great gameplay, funny storylines, an incredible hook that keeps you playing til the end, and with the right amount of game changing choices added in makes this a heck of a game to remember. trust me, and buy this game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The better remake of finding your true self. OVERVIEW: Persona 4 Golden is the remake of Persona 4 that was on the playstation 2. However, P4G has added new content such as more events and even a new dungeon. For players who haven't played the original the game here is your hook: A rumor has spread about a unique tv channel that only appears on a rainy midnight and if a person were to see this channel they would see their destined one. During this time, mysterious murders have occurred as well when it fogs. Could the two be related in some way? It is up to the protagonist and his friends to solve the case. GAMEPLAY: There are two styles of gameplay: A "School life" mode and combat mode. For the school life mode, the protagonist lives a normal life and during this time the player can improve stats, get items for combat, and start forming relationships with other characters; friendly or romantically. The game's combat style is turn-based, the player is given the option on how to fight shadows (Enemies in the game) whether it be the use of a normal attack, an item, or with a persona ( A fractured part of a character's true self). In order for a player to get a game over is by either dying or if another murder happens. In short: players will need to think wisely on what to do next. POSITIVES: Story is clear and unique that will keep the player entertained and guessing. Gameplay is easy to understand and leave the player thinking what to do next. What makes this game unique is each character's story that keep the players wanting more. Negatives: Players must keep track of what to do and at times is very difficult because of what they are given. The other problem is that there is so much to do, but the player is given little time to complete; luckily the player can always do another play through to see what persona 4 has to offer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bear-y Great Game Prepare for a journey filled with emotions and excitement. For a first time player in the Persona series, I amazed and captivated of how much I love this game. The atmosphere is cheerful but yet intense. You are a High school student who transfers from “The City” to a little town called Inaba. The Protagonist and his friends must solve an array of murder cases that are happening in this town. Rank your friends “Social Links” in order to improve their abilities in battle (Recover, Take a mortal blow etc.) but also have a meaning to get to know those characters and befriend them. The game makes you feel that you are an actual student in Japan with having to do quizzes, exams, and even school field trips. Since this was my first experience playing this game, I was at first overwhelmed. But overwhelmed to a point that I couldn't believe that a game like this existed. There are many things besides dungeon crawling. The gamer can go fishing, go watch movies to rank up your social link, gardening, and various other activities. The game in hindsight is long. On Very-Easy difficulty, it took roughly 60 hours to complete. But, ended too early as I wanted to finish ranking up my social links. The combat is stable and crisp. Simple way to describe the combat is think of the way Pokémon combat system is treated. Persona 4 Golden is worth your attention and your money. Persona 4 Golden is a game that will consume your free time and in end it will be worth it.
