Rated 2 out of 5 by from Quit before Phase 2 I disliked this game enough to quit playing well before I finished with Phase 1. I'm a newcomer to the series, so I don't have any nostalgia for the reyvateil or their music. The dub was awful until I switched to Japanese (thank goodness it was there or I might have given up even earlier). I wasn't expecting quite such a dating sim experience. If it was fighting with a little bit of sweet-talking girls, that would be fine. Instead it was rife with innuendo and the need to have the girls strip so they can power-up.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from THE WORST OUT OF ALL THREE SERIES The first two Ar Tonelico was wonderful! Both were on the ps2!. The 3rd installment went down hill! I'll explain score by score basis. I'll heavily concentrate on game play which is the most vital part. GAME PLAY 4/10: You play free roaming on the battlefield real time. It's just like the first two; you go through town to town buying weapons, ingredients, armor, dive, etc. This time you have something called image synthesis which lets you create special moves and items from raw ingredients; in addition you also get something called song synthesis where you add "status effects" to your song magic. BTW you only get ONE SONG MAGIC per persona for your Reyvateils. In total you get 10 different persona which =10 song magics...that is it! It's not like 1 and 2 where you have different song magics......plus the battle is VERY repetitive! You play free roaming on the battlefield real time. All you do is get your vanguards to hit the notes on the bottom right corner and make your Reyvateils purged.......actually your vanguards don't even do very much damage; just fuel for your Reyvateils to get her burst level up and that's all you do......she constantly cast the same spells over and over again....unless you change her persona to a different character; you'll see a different animation but THAT'S IT! All that matters is your reyvateils.... GRAPHICS 8/10 I'll give graphics that much; it's an improvement from 1 and 2. 3D is never a bad thing. MUSIC 9/10 The songs and music of Ar Tonelico series are always good! Conclusion: I was very disappointed in this game.... I am a fan of the Ar Tonelico series but this one just bites the dust sooo bad.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Save your Money I have played the first Ar Tonelico and enjoyed it immensely, and then I played the third instalment of the franchise..... First off, the fighting style is unique, but becomes repetitive and boring when your characters can't damage anything and just sit there and pound away until you finally get your Reyvateil up to a certain level where they can finish the fight. Second the characters are dubbed over to a point where your not laughing with them but at them. And some voices are to the point of annoying. Third, the repetitiveness of the levels, it is almost like the creators ran out of ideas and just keep sending you back to previous places (that are also ridiculously confusing to find). I am all for mazes in games, I love beating them because you feel accomplished, but I don't want to keep beating the same maze over and over, If I wanted to do that I would hook up my old Atari. Forth, the reyvateils powers were pathetic, all you can do is heal, which heals periodically, up your attack, up defence, and a few other status enabling qualities. At no point do you get and cool spells, not like the first one, just the same spells over and over again, wow....fun. In conclusion, it's your money, buy the game if you wish. This is just my opinion and maybe yours will differ. But for me the game was slow, and the story line and characters were uninteresting, for the first time in over 20 years of gaming I stopped playing a game before I finished it, went on Utube and look up the ending because I just didn't care anymore. Thank god this is the final instalment of this series, and the people who made this game can't tarnish the reputation of the first one with anymore pathetic sequals.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quite very Enternaining At first he gameplay was quite difficult because all of a sudden the game turned 3D I have to constantly see what happens, however later you get used to it. Well, later it gets a little too easy if you leveled at an appropriate amount. For the Graphic you have to give it to them that it is not half bad. They always had the 2D style but when i saw them chaning in to 3D I was worried but this is quite decent enough. An the sounds and music? Do I even have to ask that? It's awesome, the musics are just fantastic and epic. Also you can get in to pretty high level cosmosphere for the heroines before they confess unlike the 2nd series which is nice. The story in the cosmosphere is absolutely phenomenal, it is a must, you must complete all of the heroines story. Also the type of comedy they have in this game fits me qutie well so I enjoy it even more. Overal I think it was a great addition to the series, and they have succeded at going in to the world of 3D. No matter who says I love this game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Dramatic Conclusion for an Epic Trilogy Plainly put, a wonderful game. As a fan of the entire Ar Tonelico series, I couldn't be more pleased with the way the over-arcing storyline was tied up. It -is- approachable for newcomers to the series, however, there are a great many references to prior events/characters which may leave them in the dark (this is true of most Gust games, as they typically appeal to niche gamers). The revamped battle system is well done...Think "Tales Of...." series, or the Xeno series, with a little flare in the form of the Harmonics system. In essence, it is action based combat wherein you move freely in a 3D environment and, to put it simply, you gain bonuses from attacking to the beat of the music in battle. You can even alter it (in most non boss battles) based on how you customize your Reyvateil. Graphically it is a -huge- advancement from its predecessors, although it is far from pushing the limits of the PS3. If you're a fan of anime cel driven plot conversations and 3D sprites, then Ar Tonelico Qoga is perfect for you. Most of the visual effects for the Song Magic are aesthetically pleasing too. I am a big fan of musical scores in games and ATQ lives up to the series' reputation of fully orchestrated ambiance music as well as 19 different plot related Hymns, some goofy, some intense, all sung fully to perfection. The game allows for both English and Japanese audio. I am typically biased towards Japanese with subtitles in my games, however, the English cast features some quality actors (Johnny Yong Bosch, Wendee Lee, Bryce Papenbrook, etc) and actually kept me set with English the whole game through! With 8 possible endings ATQ will keep you busy for well over 100 hours (Which works out nicely seeing as playing for 100 hours is one of the 59 trophies in the game!). There is a semi New Game + feature though, so you won't have to grind your way through the game repeatedly. In closing, I eagerly awaited the launch of this game and was not even remotely disappointed. A great J-RPG for any fan of the genre, and a MUST OWN for anybody who is a fan of the series!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Entertaining with a few things here & there. I really liked this game. Although there were a few things here & there that they could have improved i quickly got over them after playing it for a few days. This game is amazing especially when you start going into their cosmosphere's & you find out that the characters have feelings hidden away that they dont show. Soundtrack was great & changing between the reyvatails made the gameplay entertaining. Overall i really loved it & ill probably go back to get all the endings.
