Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hunting for Treasure! Finally an adventure game that has all the components of an Indiana Jones and Clive Cussler novel. Now granted I'm late to the party about this game as I just picked up the Nathan Drake collection for PS4, but my god this game restored some faith in gaming! The game had wonderful graphics, compelling characters and an incredible story! Between shootouts, puzzle solving and dialogue between characters this game didn't bore me at all. The controls, while good, could use some tweaking, but I'm sure they figured that out in the next few games. The puzzles were fun, not too challenging, but did require you to think. There wasn't really an arrow saying "come here" or Navi's "Hey listen!". Instead it gave you some clues and you had to figure it out which I honestly loved. You felt a little more accomplished than being spoon fed the whole time. The gunfights were fun with a few different weapons playing a cover and shoot style gameplay which was fine. They didn't drag on to much and were separated by puzzles and cut scenes so you don't have consistent repetition. Other than some debatable controls, my main issue with the game was the camera angle. There times it just completely threw you off and you had to hope you jumped the right direction. Other than the gameplay the voice actors were great, Nolan North really helps create a fun loving character who is a mix of Indiana Jones and Dirk Pitt. The side characters are no exception when I say this game is amazing. I loved all of them, even the villains, almost saying that they really make the game. Finally the true star of the game, in my opinion, is the story. As I'm a history buff I loved the take on El Dorado, Francis Drake and so on. The creators took stories from facts and legends and created a whole compelling story that made you want to complete the game. Between exploring German U-Boats, the jungle, ancient ruins and a deserted Spanish colony this game really delivered. While I can give almost nothing but praise, I can't say I want to play it again, at least for awhile. The story while great and characters fantastic its one of those adventures, like a movie, where you watch it than do something else. I'm not saying I wont replay it, but its not something I'd play over and over and over again. I'd recommend this game to all adventure, history and gamers of all types. Now I can say I played the game so many talked about.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing This game is beautiful. It offers something like no other recent games do. Beautiful scenery. Just the setting of this game makes you want to play more. Also, the game is great, has n amazing story line, and has great graphics for a 2007 game.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Great Opening to an Excellent Franchise The Uncharted series is easily the trademark franchise of the PS3, and Naughty Dog nailed the feeling of being in an action-packed cinematic experience. In Drake's Fortune, the series begins and the thrill-ride extravaganza never stops from there on, but there is still room to tell an amazing story with memorable characters, including the protagonist himself, Nathan Drake. The game combines third-person shooting with puzzles, platforming, and straight-up adventure with a hint of exploration. The controls are great, and the game is well designed, but the enemy AI has unfair aim at times. However, the game isnt very hard, making for an easy platinum (there is also no multiplayer, but the single-player is actually quite lengthy and well worth replay). The graphics still look good, but a few textures look slightly dated now even though the game is gorgeous. The audio is very lovely, and the game fires on all corners for the most part. This is a memorable experience that is a gem in the PS3's library, and despite any small flaws, it is reccomended to everyone with the particular system.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A great start to an amazing series Uncharted is one of gamings best series. Uncharted Drakes Fortune is a very good game. The graphics are not bad but are very early ps3. The gunplay is tricky, there are moments when I enjoy it and other moments I dreaded to fight. Entertaining story, decent gameplay, okay soundtrack. I played 4 stories in this game but honestly Don't see myself playing much more stories in the future. Good ai,although they throw more grenades than shoot. Its a good game and ps3 fans should rent or buy it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Classic Uncharted game since Crash Bandicoot I played 2 uncharted games, but I hadn't played the first uncharted game until now. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is a greatest classic action shooter game of all-time!! Few years ago, I looked at the first uncharted game on the game informer magazine and it was incredible. I download the demo version of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and it was awesome! And not only that, while I was online, I download the trophies from that and I got 31 trophies for it. The storyline was very cool, especially the first chapter where two people were ambushed by the Hispanic pirates after they found something deep in the water. The chapters were great. the game was great. I love it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Great Start to 1 of the best gaming franchises A lot of fans seem to shrug this game off to Uncharted 2 and 3. While they are fantastic games, this one always stands out to me, because of the environment, soundtrack, and sheer awesomeness. This game was the perfect start to one of the Greatest gaming franchises of all time.
