Following the record-breaking launch of NBA 2K16, the NBA 2K franchise continues to stake its claim as the most authentic sports video game with NBA 2K17. As the franchise that "all sports video games should aspire to be" (GamesRadar), NBA 2K17 will take the game to new heights and continue to blur the lines between video game and reality.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Step back from 2k16 The game is still good, but they continue to focus on stuff like celebrations instead of fixing the game play. The online play is bad as usual: the players are on skates. It's understandably tough to handle the AI, but the off ball intelligence is still very poor. Only started playing MyTeam on 2k16 and it was good but they ruined it with the card ratings (average throwback players have the same ratings as today's stars) plus the online has several glitches where you can immediately steal the ball when you check it, checking the ball in when one of your players is on the other side of the court, losing control of your own player, nonsensical shot arcs, and they've seemingly thrown out shooting stats (played a game where Leon Powe went 5/6 from 3). The book on 2k is buy every other year, and normally I disagree with that. But if you have 16, stick with it, 17 isn't worth it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointing This game is very disappointing and similar to 2k16 maybe worse. Like 2k16 this game loves the idea that shooting threes is a higher percentage shot than driving in the paint for a layup. It is very frustrating when LeBron James can make a fadeaway three instead of making a simple shot in the point. If you use Steph Curry then you can make threes near half court with ease. If you love shooting the ball only then this is the game for you. The things I do like is the features and other modes you can play. This game is enjoyable with friends in game modes such as MyPark. That being sad, MyPark can really tick you off. 7 foot centers can now hit threes with ease and if you're like me who likes to use an undersized big man, then you would hardly get any rebounds against a 7 foot plus center no matter how hard you box out. It's really a shame on how 2k is lazy with the gameplay and I believe it's cuz they don't have any competition other than the worse NBA live by EA. With that being said I would only pay $20 for this disappointing game unless you have friends that you will play with every day

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Changes for the worst NBA 2k17 in my opinion is far from a big improvement. In MyCareer There is way to much dialogue and practices. Also agian like last year its imlossible to get badges for youre player! And Once you boost up you're player to a good attributes you'll notice once you take you're game online that everyone has maxed out stats and badges! Myteam the thing I liked most from last year has been horribly remade. the gauntlet was awesome last year well this year they redid it called it blacktop and it's horrible, the odds to get a good player are poor, its unlikely you will win in this mode the defense is unstoppable and everyone can shoot 3s apperently, and you cannot change you're squad if you unlock a new better player you can't add him to the squad till you're eliminated from blacktop. The soundtrack is garbage too. No such basketball type pump up songs in it what so ever. I probably won't buy NBA 2K games anymore

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great game but with one tiny minor flaw Overall this has to be the greatest NBA 2K series to this date. There is no Spike Lee (thank you basketball gods) and the story is more heartfelt in this one. The only minor flaw that I don't like is the fact that when you get drafted say to the Lakers (who is #2 in the draft), you're stuck riding the bench for the first year (ok I can deal with that since I get 14 minutes). But when you resign you get a massive 15 minutes and its like ok that sucks because you build up the lead and after halftime you play no more most of the time and then you get beat (happened in the playoffs). Then we you read the Tweets or whatever those things are by the fans you have one saying that you should've passed the ball more and we would've won (yo I gave you a 53 to 21 halftime lead). Then when your contract goes out you get to pick which teams you want to try to sign for. You can have the Brooklyn Nets offer you 295 VC with 28 minutes, the Lakers with 206 VC with 15 minutes, or Rockets offer you 290 VC for 35 minutes. Say you sign with the Rockets (which I did for personal reasons) you will get a text saying that you need to be with the Lakers and build a championship team and thats where you belong. They talk about it over and over again. Then when you're with another team they act like you're still with the team that drafted you. Or whats funnier is if you get drafted by a different team they try and force the idea of going to the Lakers. Other than that, the game is great and everything from top to bottom.
