Rated 5 out of 5 by from DOOM is back!! When I heard that there was a new incarnation of DOOM being released, I felt two things: excitement and skepticism. I was excited to see such a legendary game come back to the fray, but I was very skeptical after having played DOOM 3, which wasn't a "bad' game by any stretch, it just wasn't DOOM. But oh my goodness. The DOOM I remember playing as a kid is back with a vengeance! ID and Bethesda approached this game as what it should be: a mindless shooter with all the gore and over the top action you could ever want. After all, nobody pops in a DOOM game for the story. From the second the game starts, you're put in the boots of a super soldier who doesn't seem to care about anything, he just wants to kill demons -- and lots of them. The gameplay is some of the best I've ever experienced in a shooter, and so many of the classic weapons are here -- the chainsaw, the BFG, the Plasma Rifle and my favorite, the Double-Barreled Shotgun. Don't get me wrong, there is a somewhat meaningful story here and you can follow it if you want. Or you can just run around and kill demons in the gloriously bloody fashion that DOOM is known for. Wanna shoot a demon in the head? Go for it. Wanna rip off an Imp's arm and beat him to death with it? Have at it hoss. With the epic "glory kill" system this game, any of that is possible and will happen -- alot. In addition to a fantastic campaign, ID also threw in a (decent) multiplayer and the very awesome "SnapMap", giving you the ability to create your own maps that you can populate with creatures and environments of your choosing and then play solo, co-op or even upload to their servers to share with others for them to play. With all of the content here, DOOM is well worth the purchase price and was truly one of 2016's best games. Very well done game that stayed true to the original, but has its own unique identity. I can't wait for DOOM 2!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best in the series. DOOM (2016) is such an amazing new addition to the series in more ways then one. the campaign is so much fun and pretty long too, the excitement of just plain slaughtering the demon army is phenomenal. the gameplay is smooth and fluid. this is the most addictive doom in the series.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not good I bought this game thinking it would be pretty intense and fun. I was wrong. First off the disc didn't work and it was brand new. And when I got a disc that worked and I started playing the game it was not good. I really did not like it. I will never play this game again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from DONT BUY IT I traded in Rainbow six siege for this (mostly because I got tired of the 12 year olds team killing) and was expecting just a fun game, no other expectations. The blood and gore is nice, the story seems non existent but i guess its there. The gun selection is fun to use and the graphics are ok(not the best but not bad at all, very nice). thats where my compliments end. The gameplay mechanics suck. I fell off the ledges 600 times for not being super precise when the game should just compensate for this on its own. The challenges were nearly impossible because of flawed design (timed killing of enemies that give you extra time when you kill more enemies EXCEPT AT CERTAIN POINTS THE ENEMIES ARE SPAWNED CLEAR ACROSS THE MAP!!!) The maps are designed to give you very little health and ammo and you only get it by killing enemies, which is fine, but there was too many points i had to count my ammo (and i shoot burst and precise, not auto) and i still ran out. Its just a poorly designed game. Multiplayers is generic 2000 tribes style of just run and gun , get blasted before you can even make a move. There was no learning curve or upgrade that would make it easier as time went on, you either get the hang of it or become fodder for other online players. I literally went 0-20 kill to death ratio my first match and I am not horrible at multiplayer on ANY GAME i play (battlefield 1, COD, etc...). Multiplayer is useless, single player is broken, just skip this one. Wasnt even worth the $25 price tag, cant imagine paying $60.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST DOOM EVER MADE!!!. This new addition to the Doom series is probably the best addition to a classic series so far in my opinion. the fast-paced gameplay,to the brutal executions when the enemy is week, and the boss battles are all perfect, even down to the metal music in the background when there is going to be another epic slaughter party against the demon horde. Doom has been around since the 1990's, and it has been an absolute success ever since. overall great new addition to the "Granddaddy of all shooters", most people call it that and I think its true too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Doom Soundtrack is pretty amazing, better than any game I can think of. Player movement is very fast compared to Destiny, the Division, or GOW 4. I love it. Graphics, awesome. Im not too far into the campaign but it is really cool. Its not simply a run through and shoot, you must locate keys sometimes and there seems to be a cool story as to the reason for the campaign. Some elements are creepy, the gore is intense. The only thing im not impressed with at the moment is the multiplayer deathmatch part.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A MUST HAVE NO EXCEPTIONS I been playing DOOM since it first came out. The makers of this game never disappoint. Always delivering a high performance game. This DOOM is a must for any game. It brings back the days of endless enemies coming at you, but now with today's graphics it is truly out of this world.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Doom A+ I love this games campain! This games has to be hands down definitely one of my most favorite games that I have played on my Xbox One, and in my own opinion Doom has been the best first person shooter game that I Xbox One. I also found that this game has a high re-playability level, because it includes secrets which can be found throughout the game, and also other items that can easily be missed during a first play through. This game is closer in resemblance to the original Doom games, and nothing like Doom 3 in regards to how the game feels and plays. This game is fast paced, there's secrets all through out the whole game, the shoot gun shots to a relatively far distance to the contrary to Doom 3's shoot gun that had to be used from literally 1 digital virtual foot away. There's also a lot of weapon upgrades that can be earned, and upgrades that increase your speed, jump, and armor, et cetera. It's just a really great game in general. I also hope that there will be a sequel to the campaign, by the way I didn't care for the multiplayer. I seldom played the multiplayer. The multiplayer is okay through. I didn't by the game strictly to only play the campaign. My review is based solely on the campaign.
